My Swap Til You Drop partner, CASharp, is an overachiever! She sent this fabulous package in hopes of curing my little stalking habit. I must say I've gone from not really liking selvage projects to LOVING this one.
Selvage projects I've seen in the past are somewhat busy and haphazard. I don't like the stark white and writing and color spots, it just didn't do much for me. CASharp's creation includes quite a bit of the fabric print along with the selvage, adding interest, color and character. The entire package included the quilt, which finished about 17" square, a pincushion (far left), an accessory bag (center) and the two coordinating fat quarters on the right.
There are several interesting snips of prints, hedgehogs, flowers, polka dots, tone-on-tone prints. However, my favorite snipette of fabric has to be these cute little chicken feet on one of the borders. Most of my chickens are black and white Plymout Barred Rock hens, so this reminds me of them.
A close-up of the accessory bag - complete with a fantastic repurposed tin mint box as a needlecase and the coordinating pin cushion made from scraps.
