Rick and I took the plunge and started to demolish the basement bathroom. This house was built in 1978 and other than a coat of paint, the bathroom was stuck in the 70s - vintage harvest yellow toilet and sink included.
Today we removed the vanity, sink and finally the toilet. Here's what we found:
This stuff is great! All those timewarp yellows, oranges and greens actually make me happy. And, the shiny parts do have a foil finish.
We recycled the fixtures at Habitat for Humanity. We are trying to work around the structural items we can salvage, the shower basin, all the framing and the new slate floor. We spent the rest of the day shopping for tile for the shower and vanity backsplash, a sink and vanity. This project, like most of our past projects, will go slowly as we are completing tasks one at a time as we have the cash.

Does that wallpaper not give you any quilting inspiration?
